Driving School FAQs

How long will it take you to complete the online course? What’s the process to get a permit or license? What do you need to take with you to get your permit or license? We know you’re bound to have a lot of questions for us, and we have the answers. Take a look at our FAQ Categories and learn more about what you need.

Q: How do I get started?

A: You can create an account online OR call our office. Simply visit the home page and view the packages we offer.


Q: Is E-Z Way Driving Schools online course approved by the State of California?

A: Yes. The DMV has approved this course for anyone that needs Drivers Education. Our DMV License is E4758.


 Q: What are the online system requirements for the course?

A: The Online Course is compatible with Internet Explorer 8 or 9, Mozila 3.6 x, Safari 5 or any browser that provides equivalent functionality. We are mobile compatible for all devices.


Q: How is the online learning experience different from the classroom learning experience?

A: Taking the course online allows you to learn at your own pace without the distractions of your classmates.  The online course can also be accessed 24/7/365, allowing it to fit into your busy schedule.


Q: Will I still be equally prepared to start practicing behind the wheel driving?

A: Yes. This online course is comprised of the same comprehensive, proven curriculum.


 Q: Can I take the online course and still sign up in a the Behind The Wheel package later?

A: Yes. We offer the “bundle” package at a discounted price if you want to purchase both Drivers Education AND Behind The Wheel at the same time. If not, you can purchase the Behind The Wheel portion at a later date in your account. You do not have to create a new account to do so.


Q: Is there an advantage to taking the course online?

A: Yes. We understand that students are involved in a variety of organizations and have numerous time commitments. The advantage of our online course is that it can be accessed 24/7/365, allowing it to fit into your busy schedule.


Q: Where do I go for technical help regarding the system?

A: During business hours, system support is available through an online chat feature on the course website. To contact technical support, click on the “Live Chat?” icon located in the bottom right corner of the page. After business hours, you may submit your query as an electronic message through the same application.


Q: Where do I go to ask a question about the curriculum?

Q: How many hours a day can I work on the online course?

A: You can dedicate as much or as little time as you desire to the course anytime. That’s the advantage to Online Drivers Education.


Q: How long will it take me to complete the online course?

A: It’s entirely up to you. However, we recommend you take at least a week to take the course.


Q: What if I don’t pass the quiz at the end of a chapter?

A: The chapter will need to be repeated and the chapter test re-taken. You cannot advance to the next chapter until you have earned a passing grade. If you do not pass the final exam after chapter 11, you must retake the exam again until you can successfully pass the test. It is free to do so and you can take it as many times as you need to in order to pass.


Q: When will I be able to get my learner’s permit?

A: You will take your permit test at the DMV after completing the course. Upon passing the final exam your certificate will be sent to you via Regular Mail, or you can pick it up at our office. Please contact us via phone if you choose to pick it up.


Q: Do you pick up and drop off for free?

A: Yes, we can offer this service in our local area only. Worst case is that you can bring the student to our office.


Q: How many hours is required to get your license?

A: A minimum of 6 Hours. We break this up into (3) 2 Hour lessons.


Q: Is Behind The Wheel for Adults or Teens? 

A: It’s the same for both. However the State of CA requires that if you’re the age of 15 1/2 – 17 1/2 you are REQUIRED to take Behind The Wheel. If you are over 17 1/2 you do not. We highly recommend the training if you want to learn to be a safe effective driver.


Q: What do you do during a Behind The Wheel Training Session?

A: One of your DMV Licensed Instructors will take the student out on the streets in our local area and train them to drive. We have an extensive check list of items, techniques, maneuvers and scenarios we address.  We will never “set” the student up for failure or endanger their, or our well being.


Q: Are your vehicles safe?

A: Absolutely, all our vehicles are equipped with Dual Controls and they are highly rated safe vehicles. We drive Toyota RAV 4’s, Corollas, and Prius.


Q: How many hours is required to get your license?
